Summary
When Thomas wakes up in the lift, the only thing he can remember is his first name. His memory is blank. But he's not alone. When the lift's doors open, Thomas finds himself surrounded by kids who welcome him to the Glade-a large, open expanse surrounded by stone walls.
Just like Thomas, the Gladers don't know why or how they got to the Glade. All they know is that every morning the stone doors to the maze that surrounds them have opened. Every night they've closed tight. And every 30 days a new boy has been delivered in the lift.
Thomas was expected. But the next day, a girl is sent up-the first girl to ever arrive in the Glade. And more surprising yet is the message she delivers. 
Thomas might be more important than he could ever guess. If only he could unlock the dark secrets buried within his mind.

My Review
I have had this book on my shelf for a while but as my fellow readers know a TBR is ever growing and somehow this one got pushed back.... well what the shuck was I thinking, not only do I love dystopian but I also love good books and this was both. What a brilliantly laid web of puzzles, conflict and WTF moments. I had a very hard time putting this book down. I am not going to say I had this figured out and was blindsided cause this book was so crazy I never deluded myself into thinking I knew anything about it and yet even then the author found a way to surprise me.
I think the best part for me was the differences this book had form so many other dystopian books, it was so mysterious.. a broken world yet all these boys are unaware, there were so many secrets and half truths I was always on my toes trying to solve the puzzles with Thomas, who by the way is so much smarter than me and was always two steps ahead but lucky for me he let me in on his discoveries lol. I am very excited for the rest of the series and I have heard nothing but good things about them and since this one lived up to the hype I am very optimistic.
