My Review
I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review!
I loved the idea of this story, Demon Hunters controlled by a council of Elders and sent to vanquish the Monsters of the world with their lightning power. I was very happy that I read the prequel first it gave me a great look into Tina's triumphs and misfortunes that took place shortly before the events of this Novel, I really liked having that little bit extra while I read this one. 
This review may contain a few spoilers because I have so many feelings and I need to get them out so read at your own risk!!

I was taken on a very emotional ride and a lot of it was for Tina, I felt very sorry for her after her punishment I believe she was doing the right thing, but I guess the council did not see it that way. I was also pleased with her because even after losing her power she still did her job to the best of her ability. I was also very frustrated with her when it came to Lachlan, I know she was under a spell but I thought she was stronger than that, I even put the book down it was only for a very short time but I was just so mad at her, I think the biggest reason was because of Ten I was so confused as to why she would just put him aside after everything they had been through Demon or not.
When the shit really hit the fan, the Tina I knew and loved returned and I really enjoyed the action filled conclusion and I felt very satisfied with myself because I knew that Lachlan was not smart enough to carry all this out on his own, and the real mastermind was someone I had been very suspicious of for a long time. The whole blood magic thing was very neat and entertaining and I can't wait to see what the storm family will take on next, with so many demons out there both with and without treaties I can see the battle for peace has just begun.
Ten had my heart in the prequel when he helped Tina save her friend, and since he is a shape shifter and shifted into a wolf then I was even more hooked. When he continued to help Tina and shifted into more fun things to show her a good time and even to save her I just fell in love, it also didn't hurt that he drove a motorcycle and wore a leather jacket. I can not wait to see what happens between him and Tina cause I have faith he will always be there for her like he promised. I loved every second of this book and I am so glad I read it!!!

My Review

This was the book of the month for one of my groups and since the prequel was I picked it up and read it first. I fell in love with Nate in the prequel and I was very excited to see his story continue in this book. As many people may know I am a huge werewolf fan and this one joins my list of favorites, not only because the werewolf parts held what I believe are essentials in such a novel but also so much more, like complicated romance, the threat of danger, and of course Riley House just to name a few.
I loved Nate just as much if not more while reading this one and I believe Megan said it best when she said:
"The more I got to know him the more I realized he was sweet caring, protective---and also sometimes very strange."
I did have moments of frustration with Nate and if you read it I like you may know what I mean, but he quickly redeemed himself and became the loving Nate I fell in love with.
I did not really like Meg at first but she quickly grew on me, she was smart and when she found he place at Riley house I knew she would be great with Nate. I was very glad to see her cut her dead weight and get some new friends. I believe Mona was a big reason that Megan was not a snob, I loved her so much and I really want to try her doughnuts!
I really loved the sweet yet action packed ending and I am ready to get my hands on the rest of the series and join this group on their journey once again. I am very curious about Lauren and Joe I hope I learn more soon. If you like werewolves and romance then this book is for you, I absolutely loved it.
Also I must say this cover is beautiful I LOVE it!!!

Review- The Eslites, The Arrival

My Review
This book was book of the week for a book club I am in and the author was kind enough to gift me an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review, which also included the prequel and that was cool and I will also review that one on goodreads so look for that :) I really enjoyed them both.
A few of the others in the book club chose not to read this one because it was Sci-fi and about Aliens, now I'm not calling them out I just say that to bring up my opinion, I enjoy Sci-fi for the most part but I am also very picky about it, I have been let down by a few books in this genre so I tend to tread carefully, this book however was not one that let me down and I believe the main reason for that was because the main focus is not really the Aliens but more about the adventure the main character, Miranda, embarked on and her determination to save not only girls on Nidus but so many others. I feel like it had more of a Dystopian feel than Sci-fi and since I love Dystopian I was just fine with that.
I am a big fan of a strong bad ass heroine and Miranda was one I became very interested in. She was very strong and in my eyes she had many set backs yet she found a way to power through and bounce back a bit:
"Mays are leaders. We never show weakness."
I am rooting for things to work out for her, I was from the start and with that insane ending I can not wait to find out more, I am very interested in what will happen in the next leg of her journey. Bryce was okay for me I liked him but I did not love him, he was sweet and he helped Miranda through a lot but I found him a little blah, However I do believe he is essential and I am glad Miranda has him for support, I just could not connect with him. Now I want to talk about Miranda's Dad but not to much cause the jerk face does not deserve it. I have heard of emotionally constipated but this guy takes the cake, I hate him!
I must add that I love this beautiful cover, It would have definitely drawn me in if I came across it and I like that in a cover.

I enjoyed many things about this book and I would like to continue the series and learn more.

My Review

 I really liked the idea behind this book, I mean I don't know about anyone else but this is my first steampunk zombie novel, and I really liked it. I really liked the mix of old world charm, elegance, and tradition with the added bonus of the cool gagets, which I guess is steampunk but it was done very well! plus having Lucy close to the inventor gave an even better look at the gagets that were both functional for zombie killing and everyday life.
I enjoyed how complex Lucy was, She seemed to be broken over and over again but she grew from it. She did not have to do it alone though, and I was very glad for the countess since Lucy's father seemed very detached. I must admit I was unsure of the Countess and her motives at first, But Lucy and the Countess had a moment together that proved to me she was there to help and she told Lucy:
" That's what you haven't realized yet, my girl. She was not the only person you had in your life. Not anymore at least."
Lucy had a lot of men around her both good and bad, but Garrett had me from the start, I knew they would be good together he is the only one who loved her for not only her beauty but her spunk and determination, but not only that he stuck around when things got very very dark for her.
There were certain points that got a little slow for me but those were usually the parts shortly before the zombies came so it did get more exciting. The descriptions were very good and I had an easy time imagining the blood, gore and sheer adrenaline that comes with killing zombies.
When I fist saw the quote at the front of the book it had me very interested, but when I got to the end I realized how great it worked:
" A love that's formidable, revenge that must be taken and a voodoo Queen that roots fear in the hearts of the innocent; all while zombies eat people."
Overall I really liked this book and I am really excited for the next book in the series I have a lot of unanswered questions, and I am ready for more adventure.

I read book one for a read to review and the amazing Jen Wylie was kind enough to send me book two. Since I was so in love with book one I was very very excited to read this one, and I am now even more in love with this series! A truly epic fantasy filled with adventure prophecy and most of all the lengths people will go for the ones they love....our family.
On the surface this may seem like just a story of a strange group of people who have some how become a family, on a long journey to return one of their own home before the unthinkable happens, but it is so much more than that. The prophecy adds a back round and a mystery that is beautifully woven in with my most favorite part of this book, and that's the deep love, understanding, and loyalty these characters have built with each other. I absolutely love all of these characters and I am constantly in awe of how such a diverse group of people can come together and show such strength and support in times of need. The layers that constantly form make this story more and more fantastic and epic with every page, and I want everyone to know Jen Wylie's writing is beautiful and captivating.
It fascinates me how beautifully tragic this story is, I felt so many things I was whipped from heartbreak and loss to love and joy. I found the core of this story to be very relate able and it may seem odd since it is a fantasy land filled with Elves, Fey, Were, human and more but at the center our feelings and ability to know right from wrong is the same.
"Rot it all" why does this book have to be so awesome, I was so upset when it ended, I can't wait for the next because I want to return to this beautiful place and I want to know when they will be together again and if they will find the answers they need and deserve. Again I will say I CAN NOT wait for the next book and I really really hope I do not have to wait long!!!!!
Oh and also I must say this cover is beautiful I also loved book ones cover they are as hauntingly beautiful as the books.

My Review
 I was given this book by the author in exchange for an honest review and to help her celebrate the release day, I am a little late but I still wanted to mention that is was released sept. 24 and you should get it asap.
  The idea behind this story is something I have definitely thought about, and I think the author did a great job of making it exciting, entertaining, heartwarming and believable. The world has become a scary place were survival of the fittest has taken over but this small group of characters have found each other and made their own family.
  I can't totally explain why but I found myself feeling very connected to these characters and not just Zach and Vivienne but all of them. Sasha strong and maternal (although I don't think she would admit it), Max the strong silent co leader, Jackson the easy going buddy always willing to fight to protect his friends, Trevor the annoying but lovable guy, and Hunter melted my heart  I was very glad he had a great group looking out for him. I wanted to be Vivienne so bad and not just because she is a kick ass fighter with a strong will, but mostly cause she got to be around Zach who I have seriously fallen in love with, he is protective of his loved ones and determined to do anything for his loved ones, especially Vivienne which brings me back to wanting to be her lol, and call me morbid if you will but a few of my favorite quotes by him were:

"The signature feel of flesh parting around my blade sent a roll of satisfaction through me that I never would've believed I'd been Capable of"

"Tomorrow would be time for revenge"

I found them to be strong and hot proving he knows how to take care of himself and the ones around him, also brings me to say that the writing in this book was beautifully done and I can't wait to read more books by Amber Garr and I really really really hope that includes a second book to this one.

Now I read a lot of young adult books and they don't usually contain sex scenes and that doesn't bother me since I am not a big fan I find them to be repetitive and a bit unnecessary, implied sex works just fine for me lol, but this book contained a sex scene so hot, passionate, and well written that I seriously hope my next sexual encounter is as beautiful as this was, even the quick elevator love was cute and hot at the same time.

Now I don't want to give away the big secret but when they get to the compound, don't believe everything you read, Vivienne was right it's to good to be true. So much crazy unexpected stuff happens that Zach took the words right out of my mouth when he said: "I can't wrap my brain around this." . Also I was never sure about Riley and after that absolutely INSANE ending I still don't know how to feel so again I say there had better be a book 2.

 I think dystopian fans would enjoy this book so if you like that genre then pick this one up, it is a beautifully written adventure of love, survival and family so it cause I LOVED it and I think lots of others will too.
